The Westminster Hockey Club is affiliated with Hockey SA (est. 1903), providing senior and junior competitions for males and females. In 2011, Westminster Hockey Club has entered two men’s teams in the Metro 3 and Metro 6 divisions respectively.
The season is normally 18 minor round games starting early April and concluding in August. Finals are contested following the minor round. All games are held either on the Saturday or Sunday and can be at anytime from 12:30pm to 6:30pm. Hockey SA releases all schedules for the season in advance, so you can plan ahead for those end-of-season holidays. Current schedules for 2011 are located here on our website.
Practices are held every Wednesday night through the season at Lipson Avenue Seacliff, starting at 7:30 PM. Optional sessions are held on pre-arranged nights also. Lipson Avenue, Seacliff, is also the home ground for the club.
For this to all happen, the club is run by a number of volunteers who are elected to the club’s committee at the annual general meeting. Other nominations at this meeting are always welcome, as many hands certainly makes light work.
